Een fabrikantadvies voor het specifieke model en het passen met je kind blijven bepalend.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"meten\">Measure height and inside-leg length<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Height:<\/strong> have your child stand straight against a wall without shoes. Measure from the floor to the top of their head.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Inside-leg length:<\/strong> measure from the floor to the crotch without shoes. Record the result as additional information for the size recommendation.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Cycling experience:<\/strong> note whether your child is still learning to start and stop or can already ride independently and in control.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Take these details with you when asking for advice. Then check the bike while your child is wearing the shoes they will actually cycle in. Children's bike manufacturer <a href=\"https:\/\/woom.com\/nl_NL\/juiste-fietsmaat-bepalen\">woom emphasises cycling ability as well as height<\/a>; one measurement therefore does not tell the whole story.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"pasvorm\">How to check whether the bike really fits<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Getting on and off:<\/strong> your child can get on and off without struggling and has enough clearance above the top tube.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Standing still:<\/strong> a beginner should be able to place both feet securely on the ground while seated, without sliding to one side.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Pedalling:<\/strong> the pedals are easy to reach; your child should not need to rock from side to side or lift their knees excessively.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Steering and braking:<\/strong> the handlebar is within comfortable reach and the brake levers can be operated properly by a child's hands.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Let them try:<\/strong> under supervision, let your child set off, make a turn and stop calmly in a safe place away from traffic.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.anwb.nl\/fiets\/soorten-fietsen\/kinderfiets\">ANWB recommends a correctly sized bike with controls that are easy to reach<\/a>. Adjust the saddle position to the child's experience; a beginner needs extra confidence and stability when stopping.<\/p>\n<h2>Between two sizes? Do not buy solely for growth<\/h2>\n<p>A larger bike may seem economical if your child is growing quickly. But if they cannot steer and stop properly now, that size is not suitable yet. If in doubt, have both sizes assessed. Even an experienced rider must be able to control the larger bike; being able to touch the ground with only their toes is not enough on its own to justify the choice.<\/p>\n<p>Adjust the saddle and handlebar only within the permitted markings.
