FietsGenot processes personal data when you use our webshop, place an order, make an appointment or contact us. Below we explain how we use this data.

1. Who are we?

FietsGenot VOF, Neringpassage 74, Lelystad, the Netherlands. Chamber of Commerce: 94687021. VAT: NL866859755B01. Questions or privacy requests: fietsgenotlelystad@gmail.com or 06 2911 7936.

2. What data and why?

  • Orders and service: name, contact details, billing and delivery address, ordered products, payment status and information about your bike. We use this data to fulfil the agreement, deliver products and handle questions, repairs or warranty claims.
  • Appointments and messages: the information you enter in a form or share with us by phone, email or WhatsApp, to handle your enquiry or appointment.
  • Administration: invoice and transaction data to meet our statutory record-keeping obligations.
  • Website: technical data such as IP address, browser information and usage data for functionality, security and, where consent is required, statistics or marketing. Our interest in a secure, functioning webshop is the legal basis for necessary security measures; we request consent for optional tracking.

Without the necessary order and contact details, we cannot properly fulfil an order or appointment. You may refuse optional consent.

3. Who is data shared with?

We use TransIP for hosting, WordPress and WooCommerce for the webshop and Mollie for payments. If you choose in3, in3 also processes the data needed for that service. Delivery partners, our accountant and technical service providers may also receive data necessary for their work. Legally required data may be disclosed to competent authorities.

When using Gmail, WhatsApp, Google Maps, Google services or the Trustindex reviews widget, these providers may process data under their own privacy policies. Payment providers may perform their own checks. Review their terms when choosing a payment method. We do not ourselves make solely automated decisions about your entitlement to make a purchase.

4. Cookies and external services

Read our cookie policy for information about essential cookies, statistics, marketing and external content. A WhatsApp or Google Maps link opens a service outside our website.

5. Retention and international processing

We retain data for as long as necessary for the stated purpose, to handle your order or service request, and for applicable statutory periods. Tax records are generally kept for seven years. Other data is assessed for necessity; an ongoing dispute or legal retention obligation may limit deletion.

Some service providers process data outside the European Economic Area. Such transfers must be subject to appropriate safeguards, such as an applicable adequacy decision or European standard contractual clauses. You can ask us which safeguards apply to your data.

6. Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct, delete, restrict or transfer your data. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests and withdraw consent. This does not affect the lawfulness of earlier processing. We generally respond within one month and may request information to verify your identity carefully. Do not send an unsolicited copy of your identity document.

You can lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority. Please feel free to contact us first so we can help you.
